Blackstone Minerals is a leading battery and precious metals exploration and development company.
They are focused on building an integrated upstream and downstream battery metals processing business in Vietnam; producing Nickel: Cobalt: Manganese (NCM) Precursor products for Asia’s growing Lithium-ion battery industry.
They needed a Non-Executive Director that would share their progressive vision and think outside the box. Open to considering candidates without previous mining experience, it was essential that the right person could provide strong commercial and legal oversight to help the company realise it’s potential.
By applying our rigorous board search and due diligence process, we found them the right appointment: Alison Gaines.
Alison is an inspiring, articulate and experienced leader who was looking to take on her first publicly listed, board role. She was excited to contribute to Blackstone’s thought leading business with her extensive advisory and risk management expertise.
Alison has over 20 years of experience as a director in Australia and internationally. She has experience in the roles of Board Chair and board committee chair, particularly remuneration and nomination and governance committees. Alison is the Managing Director of Gaines Advisory P/L and was recently global CEO of international search and board consulting firm Gerard Daniels, with a significant mining and energy practice. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds the INSEAD Certificate in Corporate Governance. She currently holds positions as the Governor of the College of Law Ltd and Non-Executive Director of Tura New Music Ltd.
