With two operating gold projects across Australia and Africa, gold-producer Resolute needed a Senior Underground Surveyor for their flagpship Syama gold mine in Mali.
With a key goal being to build their underground mine, they needed a strong, qualified, technically competent individual to manage the mine surveying to support production targets being achieved and keep the mine plan on schedule. Being an expat role in Africa, it was also particularly important that this person share the Resolute values (Bold, United, Courageous, Agile).
We got to work in defining the role and needs and applied our A5 Way to find them the right one for the job.
We found them Aaron Mounier; not only did he have the right education, experience and skills, but also the character to embrace the challenges the job required. Aaron is someone who wanted to work outside his comfort zone, who wanted to make a difference.
How do we know we found them the right one for the job?
The results speak for themselves:
- The positive impact he has had on the team, morale and culture of the site.
- Their world class sub-level cave was built (ahead of schedule).
- They achieved production rates of 329,834oz Gold.
Even better? When asked what impact the role has had on him generally, Aaron stated:
“It put everything back on track for my life, a role that I was looking for, to sink my teeth into. Feed it and grow it. Life is what you make of it.”
“It was an opportunity that could potentially grow and grow. I went over with eyes open with a sense of hope, and it ticked many boxes for me.”
